Edinburgh Fringe Show #1 – Prologue

The stages are ready, the box office is open, the final rehearsals are scheduled. August in Edinburgh means the Edinburgh Fringe, and the Edinburgh Fringe means the Edinburgh Fringe Podcast and Radio Show.

It’s time to make sure everything is ready for another year of interviews, news, opinions, reviews, and more from the Fringe. This episode might look like a tech run-through and a reminder of the broadcast dates, but it’s also the annual tradition of Daniel Cainer’s curtain raiser.

Edinburgh Fringe Show – Prologue, Tuesday 31st July

Storytelling And Podcasting At The Fringe

There’s going to be  few changes to the show this year, but one of the most noticeable will be our partnership with the team at Fringe Review who will be bringing us more interviews from behind the scenes of the Fringe. You can follow their coverage at FringeReview.co.uk, but to get everyone in the mood, Editor and Founder Paul Levy decided to talk to an upstart podcaster in the Capital…

BAFTA award-nominated Ewan Spence is officially billed as “Executive Producer and Host of Ewan’s Spence’s Edinburgh Fringe Podcast and Radio Show“. What he essentially is is a storyteller.

In this interview Ewan shares centuries of wisdom about how and and why audio has a critical part to play in Fringe theatre promoting, and in sharing your show’s unfolding story before, during and after the world’s largest arts festival.

What is the role of audio for theatre and show makers at the Fringe? Ewan provides essential tips and advice.

You can listen to the full interview at Fringe Review.

Fringe 2018 Is Approaching!

Some of the posters are already up, the venues are booked, tickets are being bought… yes the Edinburgh Fringe is once more ready to invade Scotland’s capital. And yes, that means another year of what is now known as ‘Ewan Spence’s Edinburgh Fringe Radio Show And Podcast

Some years this show follows the format of the previous year. Some years there are changes to be aware of. The 2018 edition is going to have quite a few changes. More on that in the next few days, but rest assured some preview episodes will be going up next week, and the ‘regular’ shows will start broadcasting on Monday 6th August on the airwaves at Radio Six International, and online with various partners and podcast libraries (and here, of course).

Don’t forget that you can always subscribe to the podcast in Tunes, follow the RSS feed, listen to the daily show here on the website.

In the meantime, if you want to get in touch with show suggestions, press releases, or general advice, email me on ewan@thepodcastcorner.com.
